This weekend was supposed to be fun! It’s a little frustrating it wasn’t.

On Friday night, I got a call from one of Mini’s teeball coaches. They had just gotten their rosters and field clean up was scheduled for Saturday morning. Way to give the coaches notice huh? I felt bad for them as they had to make a mad dash to get all these calls in.

Saturday afternoon was supposed to be a birthday party for one of Mini’s classmates.

Both were cancelled due to the rain. 😦   Mini was so upset! We ended up being home, drinking hot chocolate, eating popcorn and watching movies all afternoon. Not a bad deal.

Sunday we went to the local radio station’s Easter egg hunt at a minor league ballpark. There were way too many kids for the amount of eggs they had. It was so poorly organized that Mini opted to not even do the egg hunt. (Instead she played in the bouncie house and got a balloon animal.) There were supposed to be three age groups of kids. All the families were standing on the sidelines with the kids and ran onto the field with them, stomping some eggs in the process and blocking other kids from even getting into the area. Each group was supposed to go at different times so parents with kids in different age groups could participate. The first group was told to go and EVERYONE went. It was sheer insanity! We watched from the stands, mouths open and Mini just shook her head. After the event, we saw the radio people outside the ballpark packing up. A staff member was handing out extra eggs they had forgotten to use. While we waited for Mini’s father to bring the car around, she was able to at least get some eggs and a picture with the Easter Bunny.

What was supposed to be a fun-packed weekend ended up being a bit of a bust. Mini assures me she had fun though, and in the end, that’s all that matters 🙂
